Bermuda Sun
2006 ReBrand 100 Winners > meritIndustry: Editorial Design - Below: Before Images, Rebrand Images, Summary, Credits Summary: Challenge - The Bermuda Sun is a biweekly tabloid in a tough, competitive market. They struggled with consistency and quality. Spot red was used on some issues, not others. Management wanted the paper to be bolder, more legitimate, more essential. Strategy - Creative Circle Media Consulting repositioned the paper as a champion of everyday people. They used a richer red for the Sun’s new nameplate, and used red consistently across all materials. The firm also chose bolder, more legible fonts. The BDA brand gave the paper an insider feel. Only Bermudians refer to the island as BDA (the airport code). Creative Circle didn't stop with design, adding extensive training so the staff to create better, more intimate stories and photos. Result - “Creative Circle had gone to the trouble of getting to know our market, our key personnel and our readers,” says the editor. “They managed to incorporate design aspects that reflect the lifestyle and aspirations of the people of Bermuda.” Credits: Client: The Bermuda Sun, Hamilton, Bermuda - www.bermudasun.org Creative Firm: Creative Circle Media Consulting - www.creativecirclemedia.com President: William Ostendorf Lead Designer: Jennifer Boucher [back] |
