Summary: Challenge - Delta Faucet Company wanted to increase market share for leading retailers and to minimize the number of product returns. Strategy - Delta engaged Proteus to redesign packaging for their line of faucets to grow sales and reduce returns. Proteus research revealed that women are the primary buyers of faucets and base their purchase decisions on the look and feel of packaging and displays. Proteus redesigned the packaging to feel warm and inviting to female consumers through new product photography and an inviting type treatment. To reduce returns, Proteus also designed and engineered a black, vacuum-formed tray that makes it easier for Delta to accurately pack and check parts and for consumers to instantly see that all parts are present. Result - The project resulted in increased sales, reduced returns, and improved customer satisfaction.
