Summary:

Challenge – RTA needed to increase ridership by improving public perception and establishing greater relevance among the target audience.

Strategy - To create a personality for this public transportation service that is approachable, practical, and immediate.

Result - The result is a reversed a 10-year decline in ridership. With national transit use declining by 1.4% from 2002 to 2003, RTA saw an increase in ridership of 1.5% - approximately 800,000 riders.
