2006 ReBrand 100 Winners > notableIndustry: Architectural/Construction - Below: Before Image (unavailable for showcase), Rebrand Images, Summary, Credits![]() Summary: Challenge - The Quikrete Company had not significantly refreshed its packaging in more than 40 years and realized the need to develop a strategic brand aesthetic that would be readily recognized by both DIY consumers and commercial users alike. Strategy - In order to assist with accurate product selection, existing equity colors were maintained and unique illustrative styles were added to communicate each product’s intended use. The qualities of strength and endurance are reinforced through the introduction of a strong, bold brand mark placed on a series of rectangular ”bars” which represent concrete and surface products and provide a consistent graphic communications platform throughout the brand family. Result - Designs for more than 50 skus were developed. The impact on shelf is both dramatic and remarkable. The two primary suppliers, Home Depot and Lowes believe that the success of the packaging redesign will be revealed in increased sales.
