The 20-year-old Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) program had the potential to raise the interest and level of mathematics and science teaching on a national scale. Strategy - With our multi-disciplinary team, we outlined what we heard from client representatives, past awardees, and data collection, and analyzed how these factors would impact the objectives outlined by the client. As a result of this first phase, conveyance of the following ideas made up the brand characteristics: math and science subjects, dedication of the teachers, knowledge and learning, and leadership. Result - The materials, the website, and the advertisements are all coordinated. The client reported that PAEMST brand is becoming instantly recognizable within the education community. The number of applicants is significantly up, and there is evidence many more teachers aspire to a PAEMST award. The White House has made the awards one of the centerpieces of its national education initiatives.
