IDEA Center
2005 ReBrand 100: notable
Order of information below: Before and After Images, Summary/Rebrand Strategy, Credits
Summary:
Challenge
- The challenge of rebranding IDEA Center was to provide the non-profit organization with a professional website that would help promote the theory of intelligent design.
The site’s content is extensive, and visitors need to find what they are looking for quickly and easily.
Strategy
- The approach was centered on improving three areas: site architecture, information design and visual design. A key element in rebranding IDEA Center was updating the organization’s logo. The molecule symbol is made up of four amino acids (represented by nitrogen and oxygen atoms) that when put together spell IDEA through biochemistry.
The goal was to retain the molecule symbol and the IDEA logotype while providing a cleaner and more contemporary logo.
Result
- Since the site went live, IDEA Center’s visibility has improved. The number of club membership submissions has gone up as well as the number of attacks from those skeptical of the organization’s viewpoint.
