2011 REBRAND 100 > merit Enterprise Rebrand Country Base: Germany Industry/Sector: Electronics Below: Before and After Images in Slide Show, Summary, Credits Summary: Industry Setting FSM is a Europe-wide operating company, providing development, production, and distribution of pressure sensors, accumulator technology and transformer relays. Growing from a company with three employees to a worldwide concern within 20 years has come with many challenges. Challenge The old visual identity presents the wrong picture of the company with its colors, digital font and 80s-style. The market gains have been hard-fought and FSM's unique selling point is a high-precision quality-product made in Germany. All advertising material, product catalogs and the website were self-created with low-quality pictures. So the main goal was to bring the visual identity in line with the general principle: high technical standard of products and work. Strategy The decision was to make a radical break with the old design and start with as much promotional efforts as possible. The new logo and photo style of the high quality packshots had been the first visual steps. Moreover, all product fields had been integrated into a consistent layout grid, leaving space for new product develompments. In addition, all employees were integrated in the rebrand process with their opinions incorporated. Result The result is a robust brand with a quick product overview and better information visualization. The corporate design represents the merits of the company. Moreover, most of the employees now identify themselves with a leading brand and company. FSM can compete with other exhibits at tradeshows, and it now stands out as a brand of design and quality.
