Summary: Challenge - Positioning Matrix in the marketplace presented two primary challenges: 1) Credibility as Matrix was new to the market, and 2) Differentiation by leveraging Matrix’s innovation and leadership. Strategy - The Matrix Fitness Systems brand is forged by the company's uniquely designed equipment and its innovative fitness technology. Kilmer & Kilmer re-created its brand and brand identity to focus on the existing strengths - aesthetic innovation and technology. Result - After applying the new brand aesthetic to every touchpoint in the Matrix communications arsenal (stationery, trade ads, trade show environments, etc.) the company's credibility dramatically improved resulting in an increase in sales of almost 50% over the previous year.
