Summary: Challenge - The aggressive expansion of North Fork Bank required a more cohesive retail identity. Strategy - The existing brand colors of yellow and green, key elements of the brand, were leveraged. The strategy was to distinguish the modified identity with a stronger/simpler brand signature, enabling it to compete with other main street financial institutions. Result - The shortening of the name into "North Fork", using simpler and modern typography, and a standardized modular retail signage system, cut back in signage costs and increased customer awareness in the urban and suburban environment.
