Melissa Bertolini Managing Director, Doppio Australia www.doppiodesign.com Melissa is the Managing Director of Sydney brand and design agency, Doppio. Her focus is on discovering the strategic and commercial supports that allow brands and design to be most powerful and compelling. With over 12 years experience in design and advertising, she works closely in the scoping, realisation and execution of strategic brand projects across all sectors. Her strong business acumen allows her to challenge the commercial component of a brief and ensure that creative solutions deliver genuine business outcomes. Melissa’s career began in the early 90’s in a number of Sydney’s leading advertising agencies. After three years she decided to explore an area that had always inspired her and she enrolled in a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at the University of New South Wales. Graduating with first class honours, she went on to pursue a career as a landscape architect with Spackman and Mossop, amassing award-winning work on large-scale landscape and urban planning projects for iconic Sydney sites. After six years the time was right to establish her own business. Doppio was launched in 2003 with her husband and Creative Director, Mauro Bertolini. Doppio works to enhance the value of brands and businesses through design. In a complex and cluttered world, every brand has to work hard to resonate and engage meaningfully with its audience. Whether working with a brand in the first, second or third sector, Doppio employs a defined, holistic philosophy- we see design as an asset. Under careful direction, Doppio has evolved into a highly-awarded boutique brand consultancy, successfully delivering brand success across a broad range of sectors. Recently, Melissa has driven a strategic repositioning of the agency to work across all sectors including a pro bono practice supporting a number of third sector partners. Melissa is passionate about exploring her own contribution to broader society and how she might best apply her established business skills to work with those in the community and third sector seeking to address significant social issues. In 2011 Melissa was selected as part of Sydney Leadership 2011, a unique learning program exploring the dynamics and challenges of exercising leadership. She also sits on a management committee for Special Olympics Australia and the Cure Cancer Australia Foundation. Melissa is raising three wonderful children, Mya, Leio and Orlando, and, whenever possible, loves to escape the city to a beautiful little coastal hideout a couple of hours north of Sydney to spend some real time in the bush and the sea. www.doppiodesign.com [ back ] |
