Ted Landsmark has been President and CEO of Boston Architectural College since 1997, achieving impressive results for the institution during his tenure. The Boston Architectural College is the largest independent spatial design professional school in the United States.

Founded in 1883, the BAC offers practice-based undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture and Design Studies. The BAC offers Continuing Education and Certificate programs in Design Technology, Sustainable Design, and Historic Preservation.

The BAC is the only professional school in the United States offering a NAAB accredited low-residency M.Arch. program for graduates of design schools who do not hold accredited degrees, enabling them to advance to licensure. Over the past two years, DesignIntelligence has named the BAC as one of 31, out of 239, accredited professional design schools providing World-Class Programs with High or Highest Distinction.

The Architecture Program is included in the top twenty ranked programs; the School of Interior Design has been recognized as a "Hidden Gem", a unique category that recognizes unranked programs; and Ted Landmark was listed among the 26 “Most Respected Design Educators” in the United States. The BAC has been recognized by NCARB and the AIA for its contributions to transitioning students into practice, and for its diversity initiatives.

Since 1997, the BAC has earned accreditation for a new Masters program in Architecture, Bachelors and Masters programs in Interior Design and Design Studies, as well as candidacy status for the accreditation of Bachelors and Masters programs in Landscape Architecture. During that period, development revenues have quadrupled, enrollment has doubled to 1200, the operating budget has risen to $20 million, and governance has been restructured. The BAC’s facilities have doubled, while innovative programs and exposure to diverse career options have increased student retention and engagement with public policy and social justice.

Ted's stellar professional and educational achievements prior to his tenure at Boston Architectural College are extensive. In addition to many honors received by world-renowned institutions, he holds a Masters of Environmental Design from Yale University as well as J.D. from Yale University Law School. Ted also holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from Boston University.
