Inese Silina Senior Designer, Global Brand Design Nike Golf www.nike.com Inese Silina is senior designer in Global Brand Design at Nike Golf where she is responsible for everything from setting initial conceptual direction to overseeing project execution through a product’s launch to market. This process entails naming, information graphics, defining visual style guides globally, packaging, and developing unique brand experiences – environments and special campaigns. Innovation and a fresh approach to design is a constant focus in her design approach at Nike. Her strive to make a difference by thoughtful design choices is something that she is passionate about and was recently recognized with "Best of Awards" recognition by the 2010 REBRAND 100 Global Awards international jury panel of industry experts. Inese began her career in San Francisco at global branding and design consultancy MetaDesign, creating brand strategies, identity systems, packaging and digital interfaces. There she worked on a wide range of award winning projects for clients such as Adobe, Autodesk, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, McAfee, PC World and Walmart. Inese was born in Latvia under the time of Soviet rule. At age 11, she was chosen as one of 25 students to attend a specialized full-time art immersion program, which culminated in her graduation from high school with honors in painting and art history. Later she was awarded a full scholarship and received her BFA in painting from the Latvian Art Academy in Riga. In 2000, Inese chose to pursue graphic design as a career. She graduated cum laude with an MFA in Graphic Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and her thesis portfolio won a Hallmark MFA award for Design Excellence. ![]() For Inese being a graphic designer is somewhat an extension of a fine artist; the form of the outcome is different but the same principles apply. www.nike.com [ back ] |
