Summary:
Industry Setting - Ximedica serves global medical device manufacturers and consumer healthcare companies. We are a contract provider of product innovation and development, clinical and regulatory affairs, and manufacturing services. We are unique in our integration of these services that are critical to successful product development and launch in a regulated marketplace.
Challenge - Ximedica—formerly a subsidiary of Item Group—became the brand of the entire company in 2008, when management combined three companies and focused operations exclusively on medical and healthcare products. The challenge was to launch a new brand that captured the essence and positioning of the combined company.
Strategy - The team used the timing of the company’s restructuring as an opportunity to launch a communications platform based on Ximedica’s unique “insight to outcome” integration and its importance in fulfilling clients’ need for speed and risk mitigation in high-stakes product innovation. Addressing an audience of business executives as well as design and engineering professionals, the campaign was composed of a new corporate identity, tagline, trade show exhibit, website, print advertising and collateral, and social media. The campaign theme of “Every project begins at the end” speaks directly to Ximedica’s implementation capabilities and total results-driven orientation.
Result - The new brand campaign was launched in June 2009 in conjunction with one of the year’s key trade shows, where it captured widespread industry attention. In the four months since, new business inquiries are up significantly, along with web traffic, speaking invitations to industry conferences, and overall awareness.
