Summary:

Industry Setting - Today Alberta is the market leader in the provision of end-to-end solutions in fire, safety and security to residential, corporate and public sectors. Notwithstanding market changes due to increased competition in a highly saturated market, Alberta has gained brand recognition associated with experience and excellence, service-quality, product-innovation and customer-focus.

Challenge - Alberta experienced exponential growth after introducing additional services and taking over a number of significant projects, resulting in team-growth and improved market position, which the Company had to retain. This was the time for Alberta to rebrand, to align its image with the next level of the strategic marketing plan.

Strategy - Research concluded that the old brand was perceived as “old-fashioned”, lacking in luster. It needed to indicate magnitude, energy and progress to capture a more corporate-appealing identity while retaining the existing goodwill and customer base.

Rebranding included
• A new logo, which is:
- Sleeker, representing the Company’s new streamlined approach
- Bold, shiny and minimalist, representing perfection and modernization
- Futuristic, expressing Alberta’s progressive attitude to new technology
- Vibrant, indicating dynamism due to the more vibrant color
- Contemporary because of the changed font, indicating innovation

• Relocation to larger premises, where the new identity was launched

• A shift in focus from product to client, emphasizing on customers’ experience: i.e.
- New company values, vision and mission
- Internal restructuring
- Organizational and process-methods design
- Training of existing staff, to reflect the new strategy

• Thorough advertising campaign, promoting the new identity of a more versatile Alberta capable of handling large scale projects, from domestic, small/medium enterprises to large corporate entities and international businesses

Result - As a result of the rebranding, Alberta is now recognized as one of the top 10 brands in Malta and gaining a steadily increasing presence in international markets.
