2010 REBRAND 100 Winners > merit
Industry: Publications/Publishers Enterprise Rebrand Country Base: China Below: Before Images, Rebrand Images, Summary, Credits
Summary:
Industry Setting - The media group owns 16 newspapers, three magazines, a news website and an MMS mobile newspaper. Zhejiang Online has been recognized as one of China’s most innovative websites. The publishing group employs a staff of over 4,000 and is ranked high among the top 40 newspaper groups in China.
Challenge - The ZDPG wanted to rebrand itself as a modern international media group and merge some of its sub-brands to strengthen the umbrella brand. It was looking to differentiate itself in an increasingly competitive environment through the use of innovative title page newspaper design and a strong group brand visual appearance.
Strategy - A brand positioning workshop laid the foundation for the creation of a unique corporate identity. This new identity will shape the brand in all its facets, making it “different” in an increasingly competitive market. The redesign of key visual elements follows the group’s identity shift and will be rolled out across all media over the next few months.
Result - The results of the rebranding process are a new group corporate identity and design, a new visual strategy for the title pages of four daily newspapers, the evaluation of all internal and external communication, and a concept for the roll out of the brand.
