2010 REBRAND 100 Winners > merit

Summary:
Industry Setting - Cinereach was created in 2006 by young filmmakers, philanthropists and entrepreneurs to champion vital stories that are artfully told through the medium of film. Cinereach funds and produces films at the intersection of engaging storytelling, visual artistry, and vital subject matter.
Challenge - Method felt that Cinereach's brand identity could more clearly communicate the organization's focus on craft and artfulness, and their commitment to showcasing different perspectives. Additionally, we felt that it was necessary to project a stronger visual hierarchy between Cinereach and its core programs.
Strategy - Our first step was to translate Cinereach's corporate positioning and vision into a coherent visual system. We took inspiration from Cinereach’s core mark, which consisted of the brand name in a circular field of red, and extended that through a prism metaphor. The prisms bring a cinematic flair to the system and symbolize the range of perspectives that Cinereach supports.
Result - We delivered a complete organizational rebrand, including redeveloping core identity elements and creating a visual system that supports the company’s vision and articulates the brand hierarchy of the existing and proposed Cinereach programs. The result is a system that supports the needs of this creative non-profit and allows for applications that hew close to the core identity while providing flexible and elegant extensions.
The new brand was extended onto corporate identity and print collateral, environmental treatments, and online media, including website and social media presences on Facebook and Twitter.
