Industry Setting/Challenge - Despite over 20 years of doing business, Mont Blanc Gourmet found itself with little brand. Working with Cohn Marketing, the boutique-styled company looked internally to find its brand distinction. The Cohn Marketing Brand Discovery process revealed the company’s brand with a focus on the ability to create innovative private label solutions based on a heritage of chocolate expertise.

Strategy - Cohn Marketing's integrated marketing and PR plan built upon the company’s new statement: “Quality, innovation, and fun poured into everything we do.” With the positioning “Your Secret Ingredient,” the campaign launched in May 2008. It focused on creative messaging, internal brand adoption and public relations strategies that are generating new target industry awareness, new customers and new visibility for the small independent company despite competitive forces from large global companies.

Result - Efforts have attracted unprecedented trade show traffic. New and existing customers, large and small, are discovering Mont Blanc Gourmet as a resource for their private label needs. A key company representative said, “After 7 years, I finally know what business we are in and what I am selling.”
