Summary:

Industry Setting - Collins + Scoville Architects (rebranded as CSArch Architecture | Construction Management) had been in business for 16 years. With three offices and 89 staff, the firm was widely recognized as a leading school district architect in NY State, but wasn’t known for construction management.

Challenge - Create a strong brand story to communicate the firm’s culture, services and strengths. Portray CSArch’s unique structure as an architecture and construction management firm and expand the firm’s presence into new areas of NYS.

Strategy - Allegory Studios administered a scientifically validated survey instrument designed to measure the organizational culture of Collins + Scoville. This assessment provided insight into the firm’s underlying archetypal stories and how they are aligned with its values and strengths. The firm embraced a ‘wise, inspiring, caregiver’ story to form their new brand. The symbol of an arch was chosen to embody these ideals as it is an architectural element that can be viewed both as a bridge that assists in making transitions, and a doorway that invites full participation in the process.

Result -
• Significant projects in two regions
• Multiple construction management contracts signed
• 93.5% increase in revenue from 2006 to 2007
