Summary:
Industry Setting - Founded in 1985 in Edmonton, Alberta, Kasian delivers award winning architecture and interior design solutions to clients around the world. A leader in sustainable design, Kasian has quickly grown in the past three years to become one of Canada’s largest design firms with offices across Canada, China, the Middle East, and India.
Challenge - Kasian experienced rapid growth that brought with it fierce competition with global brand leaders. The challenge was to overhaul a small-firm brand and make it compete on the world stage in a dynamic and inspiring way.
Strategy - The strategy was to create a brand platform and external communications program that raised some eyebrows in an industry that is somewhat conservative in terms of marketing and branding. It was also critical that we create a brand identity program that mirrored our internal design-driven culture. After several brand & culture strategy sessions, we decided that our entire program would be driven by a single mantra: ‘Inspired Thinking’. Our strategy then became to create a brand program that inspired our clients, our people and the industry.
Result -
1. The launch party had nearly 94% attendance and everyone walked away with a very clear understanding that Kasian is all about Inspired Thinking.
2. The brand program has won several design awards and we continually get feedback from clients who feel that our new brand and website is innovative, creative and ‘leading the industry.
3. Website traffic increased nearly 60%, with hits from more than 70 international regions.
4. The program was delivered on-time and on-budget and the firm’s revenue has shot up 30% in the year after the brand launch.
