2009 REBRAND 100 Winners > merit
Industry/Sector: : Industrial/Manufacturing Enterprise Rebrand Country Base: Taiwan Below: Before Images, Rebrand Images, Summary
Summary:
Industry Setting - GET is a Taiwan leading solar wafer provider dedicated to multi-crystal silicon cell technology. With the ability to control the quality and volume of silicon material, the global penetration rapidly climbed to 5th ranking by 2007.
Challenge - Previously, GET didn't establish a complete corporate identity system, and the logo was also outdated. GET needed to rebrand to achieve a distinct corporate identity, to get rid of traditional and local images, as well as to distinguish it from competitors in the photovoltaic industry. The new identity had to communicate the company's vision and core competence both internally and externally.
Strategy - The overall strategy was to strengthen the trustworthiness and global image via two main elements of corporate identity. DDG used visual design to produce a distinct logo compatible with the global position of GET. The solar and silicon elements of the logo successfully communicate the concept of eco-sustainability, which embody the vision and mission. The slogan, "Exploring Solar's Potential," describes the core competence in utilizing the silicon material well. To follow the eco concept, all the marketing materials apply simple design and less color.
Result - GET started to roll out the rebrand from September 2008. The new identity successfully enhances the global image and distinguishes GET from its competitors.
