Summary:

Industry Setting - In Finland, The Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners (MTK) represents the interests of its 160,000 members who are farmers, forest owners and rural entrepreneurs. The organization has local representation in almost every city or town in the country. MTK monitors local and EU directives to ensure the continued development of Finnish member activities and compliance therein.

Challenge - In rural areas, MTK strives for continuity beyond generations. It ensures the vitality and production capacity of the Finnish countryside i.e. fields, forests and environment. Rural entrepreneurship is becoming increasingly diversified while meeting the future needs of society. Rebranding of MTK needed to reflect its ambition to increase its influence politically and continue representation of all member sectors.

Strategy -On all levels of the organization, MTK’s activities are performed in accordance with the needs of its members. It strives to continuously attract new members while maintaining its mission of being a competent interest group with expertise in its field.

Result - MTK’s new visual identity reflects its understanding of its member’s activities and the changes in which all three sectors are interlinked i.e. farming (yellow), forestry (green) and rural entrepreneurs (blue). The new look and feel unites the organization and its members.
