2009 REBRAND 100 Winners > distinction
Industry: Institution/Non-Profits Enterprise Rebrand Country Base: USA Below: Before Images, Rebrand Images, Summary
Summary:
Industry Setting - The Albuquerque Youth Symphony was challenged with maintaining and even growing the interest among the community’s youth and supporters. Their brand had become sleepy and ineffective.
Challenge - The brand needed to be re-energized to appeal to today’s youth and to increase the financial support among potential donors.
Strategy/Result - When Kilmer & Kilmer rebranded the Albuquerque Youth Symphony, we believed that their brand should represent energy, fun and hipness. The logo represents the energy and excitement that takes place in a youth orchestra. The mark is made up of notes, music notations, and instruments. The clash of classic typography and trashy imagery of musical instruments created a unique and dynamic logo. Cool, fun t-shirts with messages like, “Rach On!” and “Bach Off”, dispel the stereotype that classical music is boring and stuffy. We created a fund-raising brochure to raise capital for a new building. It combined the idea of building character, friendships and a future and included a CD of select performances.
