Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts
2006 ReBrand 100 Winners > meritIndustry: Hotels - Below: Before Images, Rebrand Images, Summary, Credits![]() Summary: Challenge - One of the world’s premier hotel brands, Four Seasons was known for providing guests with exceptional service in a luxury environment. The Four Seasons website did not effectively convey the Four Seasons experience: it was difficult to navigate, and did not visually express the Four Seasons brand. Strategy - MetaDesign interviews with current Four Seasons guests and other luxury hotel guests provided key insights for improving the site. These interviews were the basis of a new top-level information architecture, nomenclature, and visual design that supports key user needs and tasks. Translucent “ribbon” design concept signifies preparation, service, and handcrafted quality. Result - The new site clearly expresses and reinforces the offline Four Seasons experience. In post-design usability research, 9 out of 10 users clearly preferred this design to its predecessor. Users said the new site is much easier to navigate, and “feels like” Four Seasons.
