Centigon
2006 ReBrand 100 Winners > meritIndustry: Vehicles/Armored Mobile Security - Below: Before Images, Rebrand Images, Summary, Credits Summary: Background – O’Gara-Hess Eisenhardt is the world leader in vehicle armoring systems, protecting against ballistic and blast threats for over 60 years. They armor limousines, SUV’s, sedans and commercial trucks for customers such as U.S. federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies, foreign heads of state, multinational corporations, high net worth individuals and cash-in-transit operators. Acquired by Armor Holdings in 2001, O’Gara faced the challenge of integrating their culture and business operations with those of Armor's other branded suppliers of armored vehicles in Europe and Latin America such as Trasco and AMS France. Challenge - To create a new name, brand positioning and visual identity for the newly combined company that communicates high technology, premium luxury and the ultimate in mobile security. Strategy/Result - Landor created a symbol for Centigon by uniting a diamond, nature's most impervious mineral, with the layered protection of a circular shield. This symbol, when combined with the logotype (based on a modified cut of Helvetica Neue), evokes a spirit of confident Teutonic engineering. The visual system that accompanies the symbol is rich. Secondary patterns evoke chain mail, and premium print techniques such as high gloss patterns communicate security and personal protection. The simple and elegant circular system informs charts, patterning and functions as a unique holding device for key images.
