Vancity
2006 ReBrand 100 Winners > distinctionIndustry: Financial Services - Below: Before Image, Rebrand Images, Summary, Credits![]() Summary: Challenge - Vancity is Canada’s largest credit union. They possess a strong local heritage for balancing prosperity with community, social and environmental responsibility. Their triple bottom line philosophy is truly an admirable model of sustainability. Fueled by a desire to increase membership and better articulate their values, we were assigned to redesign their brand identity. Strategy - Drawing inspiration from a rich brand story, we developed a creative platform that visually positioned the organization for the future. Building on a storyline of “intersections”, we created a pattern of interlocking V’s. A dramatic color gradient and inventive touchpoints within the member’s branch experience visually defines a bold and confident brand position amongst the conservative sea of financial institutions. Results - Vancity won the 2005 BCAMA Marketer of the Year award. Increased visibility of their branches contributed to members signing up in record-breaking numbers. Overwhelmingly positive response from the Vancity staff resulted in a motivated, engaged team.
