Summary: Challenge - ArchitectureBoston faced the following: - limited readership - not well known outside the architecture community - need for expanded editorial structure - too academic & “stuffy” - restricted advertising to larger budget companies Strategy - The Boston Society of Architects hired Pohly + Partners, a custom publishing company, to provide expertise in editorial and design. The firm conducted market research on prospective clients, established an editorial style of flexible and reader-friendly story flow, and improved ad placement. The solutions also leveraged ArchitectureBoston's existing strengths: a consistent readership base; a proactive editorial agenda; and writing that reveals, rather than reports. Result - Circulation increased by 40% - Circulation reaches decision makers, young designers, business leaders and lay-readers - Two new advertising sections target smaller and larger budget companies Credits: Client : Boston Society of Architects: ArchitectureBoston - www.architectureboston.com Elizabeth S.
