Summary: Challenge - Fortis, an integrated financial services provider, decided to rename its North American operations Assurant and take the company public. Assurant needed a system that would help its subsidiaries retain their independence while increasing brand strength and awareness. Strategy - The new logo features a loosely woven design that captures Assurant's ability to integrate a trio of strengths: risk management expertise, administrative systems, and distribution relationships. The wordmark echoes the logo's shape, giving the identity a unique synergy, while a vibrant color palette brings it to life. Result - Combining the symbol with individual subsidiary names gives each business flexibility without sacrificing brand cohesion.
